Eastern Maranhão (Permian and Jurassic)

Since 2010, in the context of research projects funded by the Brazilian agency FAPESP, the PaloLab conducted field work in the permian rocks of the Pedra de Fogo Formation and in the jurassic rocks of the Pastos Bons Formation, especially along the road connecting the towns of Pastos Bons and Nova Iorque. Collected fossils include sharks, bony-fishes, gymnosperms and crocodylians.
